The Rielle Hunter-John Edwards sex scandal saga continues to entertain. For the first time, Rielle Hunter is opening up about her tumultuous affair with John Edwards, a tryst that would eventually be the end of his presidential and political aspirations. Hunter, who also appears in a mildly-exposing photo shoot, says that she and Edwards were intimate from the very beginning, and goes into specific detail about their first encounter and how things played out after that, plus the "compassion" she has for Elizabeth Edwards. The mistress and the mother of former Senator Edwards' love-child, then cried to Barbara Walters that she is repulsed by her GQ photo shoot and claimed she thought they were only going to use head shots. This prompted GQ reporter Lisa DePaulo to go on Good Morning America and essentially say "Rielle Hunter is fucking liar!" The magazine fires back after she says she was repulsed by racy shots they took of her:

"Did she say she thought they would be headshots?" GQ reporter Lisa DePaulo asked incredulously on "Good Morning America."

"Rielle is a smart woman. She knows what she wore and what she was doing in the photo shoot," DePaulo said.

Hunter, a one-time videographer for Edwards' presidential campaign, posed for the pictures wearing only a man's button down white shirt, a string of pearls and panties. In some of the photos she is posed on a bed with stuffed animals piled around her. Her panties are peeking out in one frame.

But GQ released a video of the shoot to "GMA" today and at one point the videographer asks Hunter, "You want to take a look at this?"

It is kind of hard to claim you only thought a magazine was doing head shots when you're sitting in a pile of stuffed animals without pants on. Which raises another question: Why the hell are you being photographed in your child's bedroom without pants on? I dislike John Edwards but I am feeling a bit sorry for him at this point because I am sure Ms. Hunter lied to him that she was on the pill. And now she is using his love-child to gain fame and remind him exact how stupid he his to have shot load in her. Here are portions of the GQ interview with Rielle Hunter below:

On their first night together:

"I had never experienced anything like what was flowing between us. I sat on the other side of the room. I wouldn't go near him....There was sooo much attraction and sooo much...I want to say love, but it wasn't love at that point...it was just this, this magnetic force field like I had never experienced. It terrified me. And, um, I eventually walked over to his side of the room. [laughs] He was pretty relentless."

On breaking her silence:

"I feel comfortable talking now, because Johnny went public and made a statement admitting paternity. I didn't feel like I could ever speak until he did that. Because had I spoken, I would have emasculated him. And I could not emasculate him.... He's very supportive of me talking now....

"It's been four years. It's hard to know that people are out there speaking over and over and over again untruths. Lies. Consciously going out there and spinning the truth. Using me and Johnny and our relationship to make themselves look better, to play victim, or to get money."

Did he call you after the [televised] interview [where he denied paternity of your child]?

Hunter: Yes. And he said, "I’m sorry… It doesn’t mean anything." And it didn’t. I know he loves me. We love each other very much. He’s very honest and truthful.

But the irony of what you’re saying—right now, most people think he’s the most untruthful person in America.

Hunter: Everyone talks about how Johnny has fallen from grace. In reality, he’s fallen to grace. He is integrated. He is living a life of truth.

Um, what?! Are you fucking kidding me with this? But wait there is more:

Do you think he thinks that? That he’s more integrated now?

Hunter: Yeah. I think that he thinks that he is a much wiser and a much better and a more truthful and a more integrated human being.

You mentioned that it did go through your head, on that first night, that Johnny was married. Did that bother you?

Hunter: The force field of our love overrode any issues that would arise from my belief systems about, you know, “It should be going different than it is. He should be behaving differently than he is.” He doesn’t lie to me.

How can you be sure?

Hunter: [Because] he discloses everything to me. And he has no fear of lying to me. It’s the fear of what’s gonna happen that causes the lie. The fear of the repercussions.

Let me just stop right there so you can go grab a shovel, because you're gonna need it to get through the rest of this horseshit.

So even though you know he’s lied to his wife and his state and the country, you really never worry that he will lie to you?

Hunter: No. He does not lie to me. At all. [Before me], he had a huge fear. Most of his mistakes were because of his fear of the wrath of Elizabeth. He was emasculated.

If you didn't think that the John Edwards affair scandal could get any sleazier, you would be wrong because Gawker is reporting that a sex tape exists and it features a part of Edwards that is apparently larger than his brain. Former North Carolina U.S. Senator, Democratic nominee for Vice President in 2004 and candidate for Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, John Edwards, reportedly has a sex tape with his mistress Rielle Hunter, the mother of his bastard child. The two made the sex tape that was later found by Andrew Young, one-time Edwards aide and author of The Politician, a new book whose released forced Edwards to admit his paternity of Hunter's 2-year-old daughter last week. Given that Rielle was his videographer and she was handy with those videocameras, it shouldn't be a huge surprise that she might have left one running while she and John Edwards got it on. Sources have told us that, in the throes of their affair, John Edwards and Rielle Hunter made a sex tape that contains "several sex acts." And that his aide, Andrew Young found it on an unmarked DVD. The tape, say both our sources, is explicit and reveals that Edwards "is physically very striking, in a certain area. Everyone who sees it says 'whoa'. She's behind the camera at first."

When rumors of the affair first broke Young was so loyal to Edwards that he pretended that he was the father of Hunter's daughter Frances Quinn, now 2. But part of Young's disillusionment with the 2004 vice presidential candidate and 2008 candidate came one day as he went through a stack of DVDs at Rielle Hunter's house. It was this betrayal that prompted Young to write his tell-all book, The Politician, out February 2.

It's expected that he'll reveal further details in that story, and in the 20/20 interview to promote it, to air on Friday. "It [the tape] was kind of the last straw for people who had sacrificed savings and jobs to lie for John," said one of our sources. "You should expect to see plenty more stories about him coming out of the woodwork when more people realize how... complicated... his motivations were."

Up until he discovered the DVD, says one of our sources, Young's devotion was typical of the "cultish" fervor Edwards brought out in his staffers. This is why, says our source, who is close to Hunter, major media organizations could not stand up the affair story despite well-intentioned efforts. "They [staffers] would do anything to stop it coming out — they lied, they bullied, they called reporters' editors and bad-mouthed them, they exchanged access."

A federal grand jury is investigating whether Edwards misused campaign funds in his bid for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination as hush money for Hunter, with whom he struck up an affair. Hunter was paid over $100,000 by the Edwards campaign in 2006 to produce a series of videos as the campaign videographer but those videos were never used. Roland Burris And His Grand Mausoleum is Blagojevich's Gift To America, And A Fuck You Back At You Blago

One of the more bizarre pieces of information to be made public on Senator in waiting, Roland Burris, age 71, are reports of his already constructed mausoleum listing his achievements. Roland Burris, Gov. Rod Blagojevich's controversial choice to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the US Senate, has already begun work on his memorial in Oak Woods Cemetery on Chicago's South Side. His tombstone boldly proclaims, "TRAIL BLAZER" and includes a list of his accomplishments, with space left for future ones. Burris built a mausoleum to himself with a list of his accomplishments he prefixes with "First African-American in Illinois to become." Dude, no joke but Governor Rod Blagojevich is my favorite American politician today.

If it was not for Blago, I would have never known Roland Burris ever existed and that would be a damn shame. This is Gov. Rod Blagojevich way of saying "Fuck You" to all of America in his last days in office and probably his last days of freedom. I love this dude because if I was in his shoes (facing up to 20 years in prison) I would be throwing firebomb too. LOL... Roland Burris has erected a grand mausoleum for himself, carved with the words "TRAIL BLAZER" and a long list of his achievements, with a space left for his more recent accomplishments. So, the question now is how Roland Burris, Illinois's newest senator, plans to update his pre-carved mausoleum?

He was pretty clever: leaving just enough space to allow an additional line or two, while still preserving a decent overall appearance in case he didn't have anything else to add before he died. I admire that kind of forethought.


But Burris carved himself into a corner when he set up his bullet list with the label "First African-American in Illinois to become"...

Because now he's a U.S. senator, which is a pretty big deal and definitely would make the list of things to put on your mausoleum but he's not the first African-American senator from Illinois by a long shot.

What to do, what to do? Oh, I know!


He’s definitely fit to serve in the U.S. Senate with the other egos.

On December 14, 2008, Burris suggested himself as a possible caretaker for the United States Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, saying he would not run for reelection if appointed. This suggestion came in the wake of an FBI investigation regarding charges of corruption by the Governor for seeking bribes in a pay-to-play scheme for the empty Senate seat and other offenses. Burris himself has not been implicated in the scheme or accused of any wrongdoing. On December 30, 2008, Governor Blagojevich announced that he was naming Burris to the seat.

On January 5, 2009, Secretary of the United States Senate Nancy Erickson rejected Burris' certificate of appointment to the Senate as invalid. Erickson cited Senate Rule 2 as the reason for the rejection. Senate Rule 2 requires that the certificate be signed by both a state's governor and the state's secretary of state. Because Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White had refused to sign the certificate, Erickson concluded in her findings that the certificate did not conform to Senate Rule 2. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid agreed with Erickson.

Legal experts have differing opinions on whether the Illinois Secretary of State's signature is required by both the United States Constitution and Illinois law. In an interview aired on National Public Radio on December 30, 2008, the former Illinois governor James R. Thompson said that the certification of the governor's choice is a routine administrative matter and not at the Secretary of State's discretion. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White said that he believes his signature is "mostly ceremonial, rather than a point of law." White maintained that he would not sign a certification for anyone appointed by Blagojevich, including Burris, unless compelled to do so by a court. On January 9, 2009, the Illinois Supreme Court ruled that the governor's appointment does not require any additional certification.

Reid initially said that the Senate would not seat Burris, citing Article I, Section 5 of the United States Constitution, which states that "Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members". Reid and other senators had previously stated, before Burris was in contention, that they would use Article I authority against any appointment by Blagojevich. The Senate may also refer the appointment to the Rules Committee, thus stalling it until Blagojevich's status is settled.

Burris filed a lawsuit with the Illinois Supreme Court to compel White to certify his appointment documentation and appeared in Washington at the January Congressional swearing-in ceremony (January 6) to claim his seat, but was denied entry into the Senate chambers.
