1983 - 2011

Grammy-winning singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her North London home of suspected drug overdose. In 2006, the singer took home five Grammy Awards for her multi-million-selling album, Back to Black. She had struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for years and had a recent stint in rehab this past May to prepare for her latest tour. The troubled singer had been in and out of rehab multiple times, even singing songs about how she would not go. Unfortunately today the Daily Mail broke the news that Amy Winehouse was found dead in her flat at the young age of 27. The Daily Mail report:

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: 'Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.

'On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.

'Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.’

Okay, we all saw this coming and everyone knew this day was coming. It is no surprise... Amy Winehouse gave us some good posts over the years and that will be missed. Hopefully now she is going to the big rehab in the sky.

Elizabeth Taylor Dies at 79

1932 – 2011

Academy Award winning actress Elizabeth Taylor passed away today at Los Angeles, Calif.'s Cedars-Sinai Hospital at the age of 79. At around 1:30 a.m. this morning, she died of symptoms caused by congestive heart failure. "She was surrounded by her children- Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton," Taylor's publicist, Sally Morrison, said in a statement. In addition to her children, Taylor is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

One of the most beautiful screen legends in her era, Elizabeth Taylor won double Oscars for starring in Butterfield 8 in 1960, opposite Eddie Fisher and for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf in 1966, alongside Richard Burton. In 1963, she memorably starred in "Cleopatra." Taylor later in life became notorious for her seven marriages and sometimes eccentric behavior. Most people only have a memory of Elizabeth as a frail old woman being pushed around in a wheelchair but in her day she was one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood history. CNN report:
Taylor died "peacefully today in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles," said a statement from her publicist. She was hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure, "a condition with which she had struggled for many years. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be."

Though a two-time Oscar winner -- for "Butterfield 8" (1960) and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" (1966) -- Taylor was more celebrated for simply being Elizabeth Taylor: sexy, glamorous, tempestuous, fragile, always trailing courtiers, media and fans. She wasn't above playing to that image -- she had a fragrance called "White Diamonds" -- or mocking it.

"I am a very committed wife," she once said. "And I should be committed too -- for being married so many times."

Elizabeth Taylor
, of course, starred in Cleopatra which made her the first Hollywood star to earn a $1 million salary. Beyond acting, Taylor is credited with bringing the world's attention to AIDS with her fund-raising and activism. In 1985, when Taylor's lifelong friend Rock Hudson died of AIDS, she brought national attention to the growing disease. It satisfying to her to use her celebrity for good - she raised and donated millions to the cause, founding the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) and The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

Taylor reported in October 2009 that she was having a heart procedure done. Via Twitter, she said it was "very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery so that my heart will function better." Taylor was again hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home.

"I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands," Taylor said. "I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love, and of course, I am the temporary custodian of some incredible and beautiful things."

J.D. Salinger Dies at 91

Source:
blogywoodbabes.blogspot.com

J.D. Salinger was perhaps the greatest living American author. The reclusive author is best known for Catcher in the Rye, was required reading for generations of readers transfixed by its turmoil, died yesterday aged 91 at his New Hampshire home. "He was famous for not wanting to be famous," wrote Ian Hamilton in his book In Search of J.D. Salinger. His anti-hero, Holden Caulfield, struck a chord with young people as did the book's message of an unfair struggle between the goodness of young people and the corruption of their elders. Even though he spent the last handful of decades out of the public eye, the impact of Catcher in the Rye and Caulfield continued to resonate, from high schools to universities and into other arts.

Published in 1951, Catcher became one of the most influential novels in modern American literature for its disaffected tale of teenage angst, seen through the eyes of protagonist Holden Caulfield, the anti-hero who despised "phonies" in an adult world and subsequently became an icon of teenage rebellion. After he published Catcher, Salinger retreated to New Hampshire where he began to start a family. In 1953, Salinger released his short story collection Nine Stories, which featured "A Perfect Day for Bananafish and "F"or Esmé – with Love and Squalor." Eight years later, Franny and Zooey continued Salinger's exploration of the Glass family.

Bio

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jerome David "J. D." Salinger (pronounced /ˈsælɪndʒər/; January 1, 1919 – January 27, 2010) was an American author, best known for his 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye, as well as his reclusive nature. His last original published work was in 1965; he gave his last interview in 1980.

Raised in Manhattan, Salinger began writing short stories while in secondary school, and published several stories in the early 1940s before serving in World War II. In 1948 he published the critically acclaimed story "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" in The New Yorker magazine, which became home to much of his subsequent work. In 1951 Salinger released his novel The Catcher in the Rye, an immediate popular success. His depiction of adolescent alienation and loss of innocence in the protagonist Holden Caulfield was influential, especially among adolescent readers. The novel remains widely read and controversial, selling around 250,000 copies a year.

The success of The Catcher in the Rye led to public attention and scrutiny: Salinger became reclusive, publishing new work less frequently. He followed Catcher with a short story collection, Nine Stories (1953), a collection of a novella and a short story, Franny and Zooey (1961), and a collection of two novellas, Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction (1963). His last published work, a novella entitled "Hapworth 16, 1924," appeared in The New Yorker on June 19, 1965.

Afterward, Salinger struggled with unwanted attention, including a legal battle in the 1980s with biographer Ian Hamilton and the release in the late 1990s of memoirs written by two people close to him: Joyce Maynard, an ex-lover; and Margaret Salinger, his daughter. In 1996, a small publisher announced a deal with Salinger to publish "Hapworth 16, 1924" in book form, but amid the ensuing publicity, the release was indefinitely delayed. He made headlines around the globe in June 2009, after filing a lawsuit against another writer for copyright infringement resulting from that writer's use of one of Salinger's characters from Catcher in the Rye.

Salinger died of natural causes on January 27, 2010, at his home in Cornish, New Hampshire.

Casey Johnson Dies At 30

Source:
blogywoodbabes.blogspot.com

Well, I guess 2010 is picking up right where 2009 left off on the dead celebrities front. Tila Tequila's fiancee and heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune Casey Johnson was found dead yesterday morning at the age of 30 in Los Angeles without a doubt as a result of a drug overdose. I wonder what are the chances Tila supplied her with the drugs. Hopefully she didn't stupidly give Casey tainted drugs and it was just an overdose. Casey's name was recently all over the internet for because she was arrested for allegedly stealing a bunch of her ex-girlfriend/model Jasmine Lennard items including $22,000 worth of jewelry. And she was also working on getting custody of her adopted daughter, Ava, back from her parents. Johnson's parents recently cut off her trust fund after she refused to get help for her drug abuse. On December 9, Johnson and Tila Tequila announced they were engaged. TMZ spoke to the reality star Monday evening, who said Johnson stayed at her house on December 28 after the pair had an argument. Tila has been unable to contact Casey since. According to TMZ:
Johnson was reportedly engaged to Tila Tequila. We spoke with Tila a few minutes ago. She says they were fighting last week and that Casey stayed at Tila's house on the 28th. Tila tried contacting Casey on the 29th because Casey had left her dogs behind. Tila says Casey's phone has been shut off since the 29th and she was not able to make contact.

Johnson -- who tweeted frequently -- last tweeted on December 29 at 1:13 AM.

I am not going to point any fingers here because we all know Tila Tequila definitely did it. Whether Casey used pills to commit suicide because if the fight she was having with Tila or an "innocent" drug overdose to forget about Tila or Tila spiking Casey's drugs we all know Tila is responsibly. It must have been an accident because they were not married yet so Tila wound not kill her because she couldn't get the money yet. But one way or another something tell me Tila is responsibly. The good news in all this is the fact that there is no way Tila is going to get her hands on the Johnson & Johnson fortune now. I am not going to lie but I was really worried about Tila getting her hands on all that money. So, of course Tila must really down on herself after losing her latest meal ticket. Tila tweeted the following: "Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family."

And despite tweeting she was going to be "offline w family" to mourn the death of Casey, Tila could not help her self because her attention whore gene kicked in and she decided to milk this thing for all it's worth by firing off a volley of tweets while simultaneously asking for "pricacy" like a true attention whore in the face of tragedy:

I just got news that my fiance is not dead but currently in a coma!!! Omg please pray that she will make it! Hang in there my love please!!!

I know u can feel me Casey! Dot let go! I'm almost home baby please hang on! We have a beautiful life planned out for us! I LOVE u! Hang on!

I'm still in shock! Once again thank U for the outpour of love and support. I just wish to have some privacy at this heartbreaking time.

# R.I.P my Angel. @caseyjonsonJnJ u will forever be in my heart! I love u so so much and we will Marry when I see U in Heaven my Wifey

Contrary to Tila's tweets, reports from the LAPD say that Casey was pronounced dead at the scene, "It appears to be a natural death. There's no evidence of foul play. A toxicology report from the coroner's office will proceed next." BTW, for those of you wondering who would actually pretend their overdosed fiancee is still alive just to get their face in People magazine, you must not know Tila Tequila very well. At this point, I will genuinely be disappointed if she doesn't do a drunken strip tease on Casey's coffin during the funeral. Mostly because I like consistency so much. Speaking of the funeral, what are the chances the Johnson family even allow her to attend? Anyway, Johnson adopted a three-year old girl, Ava, from Kazakhstan in 2007 so our thoughts to her daughter. Brittany Murphy Dies At 32

Source:
blogywoodbabes.blogspot.com

Holy shit! DAAAAMN! No celebrity is safe during the Celeb Death Tour 2009 and there is still a week and a few days left! And the bad news is that actress Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest early yesterday morning. A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Reportedly Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Brittany Murphy husband Simon Monjack told Cedars-Sinai medical staff that he didn't want an autopsy for his late wife despite the fact a ton of prescription drugs were found at the home. I knew she had to be on drugs to have married that troll. Husband doesn't want an autopsy... Sure, what husband wouldn't want to know how his new bride died? TMZ reports:
Sources say various prescriptions were found in the home -- written for Brittany Murphy, husband Simon Monjack, and Brittany's mom. One source says, "There were a lot ... a lot of prescriptions in the house."

Law enforcement sources tell us Murphy collapsed in the bathroom and somehow ended up in the shower ... there was, we're told, a significant amount of vomit in the immediate area.

We're also told authorities did not find illegal drugs in the house, but Murphy was definitely taking various prescription meds.

32-year-olds don't just drop dead from heart attacks without a little help, if you catch my drift. Her husband must have did an incredible job not looking guilty as fuck yesterday by when he requested he did not want an autopsy conducted on his late wife. Seriously, I'm surprised Simon Monjack didn't just walk in with a flamethrower and ask to see the body. Then again, that would probably look less suspicious. Anyway, the LAPD is opening an investigation into her death, if that is the case they will probably be an autopsy without her husband's permission. Hopefully this tragedy opens someone like Lindsay Lohan's eyes a bit on drug abuse. Click on pictures to enlarge!

Believe or not but this lardass is her husband:
