Mr. Global Warming a.k.a. Al Gore seem to be Mr. Scandal this month after several revelations about his private life including a torrid affair with his friend's ex-wife and a shocking divorce made headlines. Now, authorities in Oregon have confirmed a tabloid report that former Vice President Al Gore was investigated four years ago after a masseuse accused him of "unwanted sexual contact" at a Portland hotel, but the case was not pursued because of a lack of evidence. The police said three years later, in January 2009, that the woman finally came forward and gave a statement about the alleged incident. "The case was not investigated any further because detectives concluded there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations," the police said Wednesday. Earlier this month, the woman came forward again and asked to amend her original statement. She provided a few more details and "also advised that she was going to take the case to the media," the police said. A spokesperson for the Gore family declined to comment Wednesday.

The Portland Police Bureau released a statement Wednesday addressing accusations made in 2006, saying the woman was called to Gore's room at Hotel Lucia in October of that year to give him a massage. The police statement came in response to a report earlier in the day in the National Enquirer. The woman was contacted by the police at the time but didn't followed up with any more information because she has struggled with the decision to come forward. She ultimately decided to do so in order to protect other women who might have experienced the same type of sexual abuse.

According to the police, a local attorney contacted investigators "and said he had a client that wanted to report an unwanted sexual contact by Mr. Gore." But the alleged victim declined to be interviewed by detectives and the attorney told the police months later "that they were pursuing civil litigation." Multnomah County District Attorney Michael D. Schrunk also confirmed the report Wednesday, saying his office was contacted by the police after the allegations were made.

Al Gore was accused of sexually assaulting the Oregon masseuse
    4 years ago,
she claims the former VP and presidential nominee "groped me, grabbed me, engulfed me in embrace, tongue kissed me, massaged me [and] grabbed my breasts." Which sounds like Al learned some lesson from his old boss Bill Clinton (What, no cigars in Oregon?) but the police found no evidence because she reported the incident weeks later. And the woman who is stilling claiming Gore sexually assaulted her is trying to sell the story to the Enquirer for $1 million. In a bizarre statement to police, the woman who claims that Al Gore fondled and groped her during a massage session described the former Vice President as a giggling "crazed sex poodle" who gave a "come hither" look before pouncing on her in a Portland hotel suite. People report:

"The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in Portland confirmed Wednesday that the woman reported unwanted sexual contact by Gore to police in 2006, and the prosecutor’s office was briefed by the Portland Police Bureau in late 2006 and January 2007.

“We were told the woman was not willing to be interviewed by the Portland Police Bureau and did not want a criminal investigation to proceed,” Multnomah County D.A. Michael Schrunk said. The woman was reportedly considering suing Gore before last month approaching the National Enquirer, asking for $1 million for her story.

The woman, who did not respond to several attempted follow-up interviews with police, revealed in the complaint that she grappled with her decision to come forward – even consulting with attorneys – but ultimately decided to do so to protect other women who may have experienced the same trauma.

She told detectives she only wanted “justice” and that her complaint was not an attempt to receive money."

After fleeing Gore's suite, the woman returned home to discover, a la Lewinsky, "stains on the front of my black slacks." Suspecting that the stains were Gore bodily fluids, the woman made sure not to clean them. But you know that you don't get to say this wasn't about the money? Right after selling your story for $1 million to the National Enquirer. This Enquirer story comes three weeks after Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, announced they were separating after 40 years of marriage. Gore has yet to respond to this latest report. It was also announced that he and his wife of 40 years have separated recently because he was cheating on her with a female producer that worked with him on the Inconvenient Truth.

In a taped January 2009 interview with cops, the 54 year-old woman, a licensed masseuse whose name has been redacted from police records, read from a lengthy prepared statement that detailed her alleged October 2006 encounter with Gore at the Hotel Lucia. … [The masseuse] approached Portland police and sought to memorialize her allegations against Gore, who she portrayed as a tipsy, handsy predator who forced her to drink Grand Marnier, pinned her to a bed, and forcibly French kissed her. The woman describes Gore as a man with a "violent temper as well as extremely dictatorial commanding attitude besides his Mr. Smiley Global Warming concern persona."
